Francesca Pizzardi

Quality Assurance Manager ISO

What excites you the most about your work at LabAnalysis?

Dealing with Management Systems, the best part of my job is the organizational and management one. LabAnalysis already has an established system and it’s exciting to follow its changes and face all the challenges that the company has to overcome. The Management System must be solid, proactive and able to deal with the changes that constantly turn up inside and outside the company.
At the base of every project there is a SWOT analysis: strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats. This assessment allows to plan, organize, manage and control every changement minimizing risks and promoting opportunities.
These tools of the Management System make it possible to guarantee the effectiveness and efficiency of the processes and allow to implement business procedures compatible with the company’s need to optimize timing, resources and Customer satisfaction.
In the end, what I like about my job is the management, control and optimization of processes. A compass to orientate and chart the right route according to the company mission and aimed at respecting ethical principles and social responsibility towards employees, Customers and community.

Define your role better

Formally, I am the Quality Assurance Manager, although I prefer to define myself as the Management System Manager with reference to the ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 17025 standards.
The Management System is the framework that allows all business processes to interact with each other and operate effectively and efficiently in compliance with regulatory standards of reference.
The organization, in the realization of its processes, is inspired by the international standards to ensure Customer satisfaction and offer a service that meets Customer and mandatory requirements. The Management System, through procedures and operating instructions, provides the tools to guarantee and demonstrate that the service offered is fit for purpose.
The Management System Manager ensures that the requirements of the System are prepared and applied, promotes staff awareness of their contribution to effectiveness of the management system and the implications of not complying with the requirements of the management system. I also consider the needs of customers and the organization in order to manage activities in a truly effective and efficient manner.

Who has had the biggest impact on your life and career?

My sister. Since I was a child, she has given me a great strength and made me understand what really matters in life. This awareness helps me in my private and professional life to face adversities and challenges with serenity and determination.
Recognition, success and – why not – even failures, if generated by passion and enthusiasm for your work, are a drive to improve and aim higher and higher. Whatever you do, you must turn it into something important and give it a meaning. Even your work should turn into a small masterpiece!
I strongly believe in progress, in its absolute form of advancement of human capabilities and potential. Progress cannot disregard nature and its laws. This has influenced the choice of my study path. I graduated in Industrial Biotechnology. Biotech is at the service of various industrial sectors, from food to pharma, to the field of new materials such as biodegradable plastics, in order to meet the needs and challenges that humanity will inevitably be forced to face.
From my studies, the step to my professional choices was almost automatic: I work in a company at the forefront in the field of analytical controls, to protect the community and the environment.

How did you end up working for LabAnalysis?

Thanks to the Orientation Centre of the University of Pavia, which manages relations between university and companies to promote the introduction of students and graduates into the world of work.
I graduated in December 2009. In January 2010 I had my first interview in LabAnalysis and in February I started my career in the Quality Assurance Sector.
Since my arrival the company has experienced – and still continues with – a business expansion, acquiring several companies scattered throughout the country.
This is a company surely on point and has always been able to take advantage of its changes and evolutions. Contacts between different operating sites allow for constructive comparison and continuous sharing of professional experience.

How do you see yourself in 10 years?

More wrinkles, but same passion and determination.
I hope that the company will expand abroad, so I can deal with international realities and bring our Italian competence, professionalism, seriousness and enthusiasm.

What characteristics should a good leader have?

Transparency, fairness and loyalty to their team. Authoritativeness and resilience.
It should be aware that every achievement is merit of the whole team, motivating it and transmitting the passion for what they’re doing.
My team is made up of 5 extraordinary women and I believe that together we’ll achieve important goals.
