International Conference Food Contact Compliance - IX ed.

Now in its 9th edition is the International Conference Food Contact Compliance, the annual international conference on food contact compliance sponsored by the Italian Packaging Institute. This year, finally in attendance, it returns to the historic location of Baveno (VB), on the Piedmont shore of Lake Maggiore, at the Grand Hotel Dino, on September 27 and 28, 2022.

The event is a reference for experts in the FCM (Food Contact Material) industry, who find there an opportunity to compare and update on changes and novelties, relevant in Europe and beyond continental borders.

In Europe, for example, a new Food Contact Recycled Plastics Regulation is scheduled to be adopted, and possible new EDQM (European Directorate for the Quality of Medicines) Guidelines for metals and alloys in contact with food have been published. On several continents, new recycling technologies and initiatives are being developed for plastics, ceramics, and other materials (e.g., Asia). Adoption of the Green Deal will also affect business activities outside the European context, where attention must be paid to current regulatory activity, which is sometimes different, or less well delineated (e.g., in North America, the issue regarding PFAS is handled at the state level).

Special attention will be given to the topic of sustainability, recycled plastics and standards, but there will be no shortage of additional insights. In fact, the entire Conference takes shape with the aim of clarifying what the contextual situation is, with analysis and information provided by experts from different jurisdictions around the world, encouraging discussion and networking among professionals.
